About us

SWEED Trust (Social Women Educational and Economical Development Trust) is a service-minded voluntary and non-governmental organization established in 2014 and registered in the sub-registrar office in Thiruparankundram with Reg. No: 15/2014 under the Indian Trust Act 1882. Our mission is to address ignorance, illiteracy, and exploitation, which are major hindrances for socially deprived and disadvantaged people, and to improve their standard of life through various support programs.

We strive to empower women and children by providing education, vocational training, and access to healthcare. By fostering a sense of community and self-reliance, we aim to create sustainable development and long-term social change. Our holistic approach ensures that all aspects of an individual's well-being are addressed, promoting a more inclusive and equitable society. Join us in our mission to uplift the underprivileged and make a lasting impact on their lives.

Achievements

We are proud to highlight the following achievements:

  • Formation of 2000 Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
  • Orientation training provided to 15,000 SHG members
  • Assistance in obtaining 25 Aadhar Cards and 50 old age pensions
  • Skill training given to 13,000 individuals in tailoring and computer skills
  • Manufacturing of household cleaning products by 1500 people
  • Organizing 300 awareness programmes
  • Sheltering 42 inmates in the NULM Shelter Home

    • Programmes

    Each year, SWEED Trust conducts a variety of programmes in line with the objectives outlined in our trust deed and the National Livelihood Mission (Govt. of India). These programmes are designed to address the basic needs and promote the overall well-being of disadvantaged communities.

    We focus on providing comprehensive support, including educational initiatives, skill development workshops, and healthcare services. Our efforts also extend to environmental sustainability projects and community-building activities. Through these diverse programs, we aim to foster economic independence and improve the quality of life for those we serve.

    Additionally, SWEED Trust collaborates with local and national organizations to amplify our impact and reach more beneficiaries.

    Founder

    Shri S. Govindaraj B.A., is the founder cum Managing Trustee of this organization. He worked in many voluntary organization gained good orientation and experience. He is very sincere and very straight forward and execute any kind of welfare programmed to the needy people? Educationally he is well equipped with a Bachelor degree. He has established lot of contacts and maintain the same to carry out good things to people.

    Birth of Sweed Trust

    The managing trustee of the sweed trust, shri S. Govindaraj had a good exposure of women & child worker in factories and this exposures had influenced him to start this organization

    Your Contributions

    SWEED Trust, right from the beginning carried out all its programmes from the funds generated by itself. A fervent appeal is forwarded to all. Brothers and sisters, well-wishers, philanthropists, reputed welfare organizations, corporate establishment to provide to generous donations to help these needy people.

    You can send all your contribution cash or kind cloths, furniture, play materials, office materials, computers supply of oxygen producing Tree sapling

    Assisting in forming herbal gardens and life saving drugs etc. Cheque payment can be made in the name of "SWEED TRUST" and directly to sent to the managing trustee, Sweed Trust. proper receipt and thanksgiving letter with Xerox copy of 80G Income tax exception Certificate will be sent to the donor immediately.

    Donors outside India can also send their contribution through proper legal fund transfer.

    MILES TO GO

    Consistent and constructive planning is very much essential to carry out and complete a planned activity. In the same way, SWEED Trust has planned some constructive activities to be carried out in the next five years:

    Increase NULM Shelter Home Inmates

    To increase the inmates in NULM shelter home.

    Construct Multipurpose Activity Center

    Construct the Multipurpose Activity Center in SWEED Trust Headquarters in Nilaiyur village to organize all kinds of welfare and training programs.

    Environmental Sustenance

    To increase environmental sustenance, 10,000 oxygen-producing tree saplings will be planted in the entire project area.

    Skill Development Training

    To organize many skill development training programs in the multipurpose activity center.

    Project Areas

    SWEED Trust has identified the whole of Thiruparankundram taluk and the entire 100 wards in Madurai corporation as project areas.

    This NGO is located in Nilaiyur village, situated in Thiruparankundram taluk, one of the 13 taluks in Madurai district. Madurai is the district headquarters, which is 227 km from Nilaiyur and about 512 km from Chennai.
